Firstly, let’s take a look at what ‘Tracking’ actually means. Tracking describes how Invisalign works by moving teeth move in accordance your treatment plan. Orthodontist’s can’t straighten your teeth overnight, so they use gradual and successive force to train your teeth into new positions as defined by your treatment plan.

Your aligners should fit snugly against your teeth without any large and noticeable gaps. Throughout my treatment I sometimes received a message like this:

They best way to describe it is that your tooth isn’t sitting in the aligner as it should, like this:

Some ways which I found helped:

1. Step up your Chewie game! Make sure to keep using your Chewie’s in any problem areas throughout the day and when you first put your aligners in.

2. Second, make sure your aligner hasn’t been damaged. If you grind your teeth a lot, carry it loose in a purse or backpack, or wash the trays in hot water, they may have warped and will need to be replaced.

3. Make sure you are hitting your wear time! When they say 22 hours a day they really do mean 22 hours a day.

4. Give problem areas a little massage to try an seat the plastic a bit better.
